Could you go alcohol-free for 40 days?
If so, why not join us for “AbstiLent”? By abstaining from alcohol for Lent, from 1st March to Easter Sunday (16th April), you can help men who face the need to give it up for life.
Lynn Green, General Secretary of the Baptist Union of Great Britain, joined us last year:
“I am all too aware of the impact that alcohol and drug dependency can have on the lives of individuals and families. I also know how difficult it is to leave these addictions behind. My husband, Stuart, and I took part in AbstiLent so that, in some small way, we could identify with the men at Yeldall who have the courage to be on the journey, whilst also raising money to help provide the vital support that they need. We believe that Yeldall Manor changes lives and we want to be part of that.”
What might you give up in Lent to help support our residents?
Those who have been giving up something for Lent for Yeldall for many years suggest, “Pick something challenging but achievable – there is no point in setting yourself up for failure.” “For a first-timer, pick just one thing, and try that. If you find that you’re doing OK, then add another or save it for next year when you can try something harder.”
