The Programme

Yeldall Manor offers methadone and subutex detoxification and two consecutive rehabilitation programmes of rehabilitation, which provide the framework to enable men to overcome addictive behaviour and learn to live new and fulfilling lives, free of drugs and alcohol.  These are followed by one year’s aftercare support.

The Yeldall Manor Programme

Run in the Main House, the Yeldall Manor rehabilitation programme is open to men aged between 18 and 50, who want to overcome serious addictions to drugs or alcohol. For information about our detoxification facility, click here.

The programme includes:

The twin pillars of Yeldall Manor are love and discpline.  There is a daily timetable, which is strictly followed, along with other rules, which must be observed.  This helps to build self-discipline, and put good habits into place for the future.  But, as a former Social Services Inspector noted, "Without love, work can be harsh and punishing; without compassion and humour, discipline becomes embittering; without trust and encouragement, responsibility is a burden."  At Yeldall Manor, we are a like a family in many ways, working and relaxing together.  We aim to mirror Christ, who 'loves us just as we are, but too much to let us stay that way'.

Our Christian foundation and the Christian element of the programme are, we believe, essential to our ministry.  Read more about our vision and beliefs.

On completion of the Yeldall Manor Programme, residents are strongly advised to continue onto the Yeldall Lodge Resettlement Programme to prepare them for re-entry into society.

The Yeldall Lodge Programme is open to men who have completed the Yeldall Manor first stage programme or another similar programme of rehabilitation.

During the 18-week Yeldall Lodge Programme, residents live in one of two self-contained flats in the 8-bed Lodge, which is a separate building on the Yeldall Manor site.  Throughout this programme, residents learn to live more independently and are responsible for their own cooking, cleaning and laundry etc.

Residents receive help with finding voluntary work placements, which they attend two to three days a week in order to gain further work experience and help prepare them for permanent work once they complete the programme.

As low skills and lack of qualifications can make job hunting difficult for some residents, we provide help with writing CVs and job-search skills and other work-focused training courses where appropriate.  We also offer help in areas such as relapse prevention, life skills, budgeting, relationship building, healthy eating and nutrition.

As part of their successful recovery, we encourage all our residents to be part of a local church and housegroup.  This is not compulsory for residents of the Lodge Programme, but they are encouraged to make positive use of their free time, which might also be through attending community-based groups such as NA or AA and developing new or existing hobbies.

Having completed the Yeldall Lodge Programme, rather than return to old haunts, many residents stay in the local area where they can benefit from our Aftercare support.  The first year after leaving rehabilitation is critical and, for that reason, we offer regular one-to-one meetings with a Resettlement Worker whilst the ex-resident readjusts to community life.
