The Lodge Admissions Process

All applicants to the Lodge (2nd stage) Programme will have successfully completed the Yeldall Manor (or similar) Rehabilitation Programme and need to have been abstinent for a three month period immediately prior to admission.

All direct entry applicants for The Lodge Programme must complete an application form. These can be downloaded from our website (click on 'The Lodge Application Form') and, once completed in full, must be forwarded by post or fax to The Resettlement Manager. On receipt of your Application Form, we will ask for further information from your doctor, drug/alcohol worker, solicitor, probation officer, psychiatrist, care manager etc. A visit to The Lodge will be arranged for you as soon as possible. This will give you an opportunity to spend some time with current residents and staff to find out more about the programme, and have a full interview with one of the Resettlement Team.

Applications from men already on the Yeldall Manor Programme will be considered during the Regeneration phase, in consultation with their Counsellor and Care Manager.

Before admittance to the Programme, confirmation of funding for the full programme must be received in writing (requests for funding must be made to your local Social Services department). Once written confirmation of funding is received, we would seek to offer a place as soon as possible.

When assessing suitability, the Lodge Admissions Team will consider the following:

Is the applicant a male, aged between 18 & 50?
Will the applicant have recently completed the Yeldall Manor Programme or similar comprehensive therapy programme for those addicted to drugs or alcohol?
Are there identified support needs?
Is the applicant demonstrating motivation to participate in the programme?
Is there genuine vulnerability and a housing need?
Is the applicant able to participate fully in a community-based workplace programme?
Has there been any attempted suicide for six months prior to admission?
Has there been any self-harm for three months prior to admission?
Does the applicant have evidence showing that they have been drug and alcohol free during the three months prior to admission?
Is the applicant taking any prescribed medication, unless for health issues such as diabetes, asthma etc, and is it in accordance with our Policy on Psychotropic Medication?
Is the applicant prepared to accept the Terms and Conditions of residence? (for full details, click on The Lodge Tenancy Agreement)

The Yeldall Manor estate is a completely drug and alcohol free environment and it is imperative that applicants to both the Manor (1st stage) programme and the Lodge (2nd stage) Programme are fully detoxified before arrival. Therefore you will need to provide evidence to this effect and test negative for drugs and/or alcohol upon arrival.
