Practical Support

There are many ways in which you can get involved and help Yeldall Manor in a practical manner:

Supporting our events

As well as coming along to our regular events, and bringing your friends, we always need help, particularly for our Open Day in July.  Contact Sue Hedger for more details.

Giving your time

We often welcome voluntary help too, which could include driving residents to appointments, working on the house, vehicles or grounds (those with practical skills or trades experience are therefore particularly welcome), working in the kitchen or the office (word-processing etc).  To find out more about our current needs, and how you might be able to help us, contact Ben or Rachel on 0118 940 4411.

We also take men (of any age) on gap year placements via Time for God.

Donating furniture

All donations of furniture for Yeldall Manor are now handled by Chissock Woodcraft, an independent Social Enterprise, based in the grounds of Yeldall Manor and working with men who have completed a programme of rehabilitation.  Offering a professional furniture renovation service, they particularly welcome donations of old wooden furniture that can be repaired and sold to raise funds for the project.  Contact them on 0118 940 4499.

If you are in West London, the Trinity Shop (formerly Yeldall Homeless Projects) still welcomes donations of furniture.  Contact them on 020 8797 9505.

Donating old printer cartridges and mobile phones:

You can raise money by donating your old printer cartridges and mobile phones.  Click here for more details.  You can either send these care of Yeldall Manor or register yourself as a collector for us.

Donating jewellery:

Any old jewellery, whether costume jewellery or precious metal, can be sold or recycled to raise funds.  Contact us for a Freepost envelope.

Donating other items:

By donating items that we use regularly, you can help reduce our expenditure, and every little really does help:

At present, we would welcome donations of:

FOOD - Tinned fruit, baked beans, tinned ravioli & spaghetti, rice, pasta, jam, marmalade, ketchup, salad cream, coffee and tea, fruit squash.

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS - mugs (not cups & saucers), cleaning cloths (blue or pink), paper napkins (plain not patterned), pillows in good-as-new condition, bedside lights.

Computers - We don't currently require any computers, but would still welcome donations of 'flat' TFT screens only.  We would greatly appreciate a laptop (new or old) with good battery life.

Plus, for our Open Day in July, we ask for homemade cakes and second-hand Christian books and CDs (bring & buy on the day).

At Christmas, we welcome small gifts for the residents’ stockings such as toiletries, stationery and chocolates.  Contact us for more details on these and other needs.
